PLANNED SCIENTIFIC EVENTS
In 2016, with the participation of the All-Ukrainian Association of Scientists and Specialists in the Field of Operational and Investigative Activities on the basis of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs, the following scientific events are planned:
1. International Scientific and Practical Conference “Criminal Intelligence: Methodology, Legislation, Foreign Experience” (April);
2. International Scientific and Practical Conference “Procedural and Forensic Aspects of Pre-Trial Investigation” (April).
A study of the criminal procedural and operational-detective foundations of ensuring the safety of participants in criminal proceedings was conducted
Tarasenko R.V. Security of participants in criminal proceedings: criminal procedural and operational-detective foundations: monograph. – Odesa: ODUVS, 2015. – 510 p.
The monograph examines general theoretical provisions, legal regulation, organization of ensuring the security of participants in criminal proceedings, sets out the issue of using the capabilities of the ORD in this regard, the application of the mechanism for implementing individual security measures. The need for amendments and additions to the current criminal procedural legislation is proven.

The two-week ANACAPA & UNODS training, held with the participation of members of the Association at the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs, has ended.
On December 18, 2015, the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs awarded certificates to participants in a training course on the use of analytical methods in criminal analysis based on modern advanced technologies using the ANACAPA methodology.
We would like to remind you that the training in operational analysis was initiated by the OSCE, the World Bank, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and took place from December 7 to 18, 2015, and about 20 participants from all over Ukraine took part in the training.
Thus, the rector of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs, Oleksandr Yevgeniyovych Korystin, congratulated the students on the completion of the course, and the expert on criminal investigations using the ANACAPA methodology, Myroslav Prlevych, expressed his sincere hope that the knowledge and skills acquired during practical classes and briefings will be useful to the participants in their future professional activities.
It should be noted that during the training course, those present had the opportunity to gain the knowledge necessary to analyze large volumes of information from various sources and form correct analytical conclusions from this information. The issues considered were: the analytical process; analysis of relationships; formation and evaluation of conclusions; analysis of telephone conversations; drawing up diagrams, flows, events and actions; concepts and strategies of analysis using a computer, etc.
The Association creates a scientific basis for combating money laundering
Korystin O.E. Counteracting money laundering: international standards, foreign experience, administrative-legal, criminological, criminal-legal, forensic principles and the financial monitoring system in Ukraine: textbook / O.E. Korystin. – Odesa: Phoenix, 2015. – 984 p.
The textbook, based on theoretical analysis, world standards, as well as generalized materials of the practical activities of law enforcement agencies, comprehensively reveals the main directions in the field of combating money laundering. Attention is focused on both the problems of legislative support for the specified sphere of social relations and the practical implementation of current norms in the field of criminal, criminal procedural and administrative law.
A textbook on criminal procedure is presented

The manual analyzes the modern criminal procedural legislation of Ukraine, highlights the basic principles of criminal proceedings, contains a brief summary of the course of criminal procedural law.
The work was carried out in accordance with the Action Plan of the Ministry of Internal Affairs aimed at implementing the norms of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine, approved by the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine dated 08.08.2012 No. 685, the Law of Ukraine dated 11.07.2001 No. 2623-III “On priority areas of development of science and technology”, the List of priority areas of scientific support for the activities of the internal affairs bodies of Ukraine for the period 2015-2019, approved by the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine dated March 16, 2015 No. 275, topics of scientific research of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs – “Priority areas of development and reform of the internal affairs bodies in the context of the deployment of democratic processes in the state” (state registration number − 0114U004015), topics of scientific work of the Department of Criminal Procedure of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs “Current problems of pre-trial investigation” (state registration number − 0114U004018).

Representatives of the Association paid a working visit to Moldova
On December 8-9, 2015, an international seminar on “Illicit Financial Flows: Trafficking in Persons” was held in Chisinau (Republic of Moldova) under the patronage of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
Representatives of the USA, Austria, Moldova, Belarus, Hungary, Russia and Ukraine took part in the event. It should be noted that representatives of the All-Ukrainian Association of Scientists and Specialists in the Field of Operational and Investigative Activities also took an active part in the events.
During the meeting, problematic issues of combating “money laundering” obtained from human trafficking were discussed, as well as ways to overcome and prevent the further creation of favorable conditions for human trafficking.
Based on the results of the seminar, a number of tasks were developed for the UN Member States:
— organization of regular regional meetings for representatives of law enforcement agencies, financial intelligence agencies, as well as specialists in combating money laundering in the private sector;
— supporting participating States in developing a toolkit for disrupting the financial infrastructure of crime to achieve greater disruption with less resource expenditure;
— developing training packages on the financing of trafficking in human beings and providing them to participating States as part of a broader training of trainers programme on combating money laundering and trafficking in human beings;
— conducting joint international investigations and establishing investigative teams to plan and implement operations to disrupt the financial infrastructure of crime in the area of trafficking in human beings, etc.
