The manual sets out the essence and legal foundations of the organization of operational-search activities, the rights and obligations of operational units and guarantees of ensuring legality in the course of operational-search activities and covert investigative actions. A separate section is devoted to the legal foundations of the implementation of covert investigative (search) actions. The manual is the fourth edition of the aforementioned series, which takes into account changes in legislation in accordance with the current Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine and the programs of the disciplines "Legal Foundations of Operational and Investigative Activities", "Criminal Process", "Forensic Science", which are taught to students of legal specialties and cadets of universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies.

The legal, general theoretical foundations and practical issues of organizing and conducting operational-search activities of various types of sanctioning are outlined. The concept, essence, meaning of operational-search activities, the grounds for their conduct, the issues of organizing and conducting individual operational-search activities, etc. are revealed.

The manual takes into account changes in the current legislation in accordance with the new Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine and the programs of the academic disciplines “Operational-search activities”, “Criminal process”, “Forensic science”, which are taught to cadets of universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies.
