PUBLICATION DEDICATED TO THE UKRAINIAN-GERMAN YEAR OF LANGUAGES

2017-2018 has been designated as the Ukrainian-German Year of Languages. The decision to hold the Ukrainian-German Year of Languages ​​was made in 2016 by the Foreign Ministers of both countries in order to deepen mutual trust and friendship between Germany and Ukraine 25 years after the beginning of diplomatic relations, as well as to further develop cooperation in the fields of education and culture. The grand opening took place as part of the joint Festival of Language and Culture in September 2017 in Kyiv. The Joint Year of Languages ​​will end in the summer of 2018 with the holding of an international Educational Congress. Throughout the year, language and literature will become platforms for the transmission of modern culture, educational standards and European values.

The organizers of the Ukrainian-German Year of Languages ​​2017-2018 are the Federal Foreign Office, the German Embassy in Ukraine and the Goethe-Institut in Ukraine (project coordination) in agreement with the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. When planning and implementing projects and events, close cooperation is maintained with other German cultural and language organizations in Ukraine, as well as with Ukrainian partners who are part of their extensive network. The goal of the Ukrainian-German Year of Languages ​​is to deepen existing cooperation between educational and cultural institutions of both countries and to launch new long-term partnerships and projects.

The members of the Association made their contribution to the celebration of the Year of Languages. This step was the release of a new reference publication:

Ukrainian-German phrasebook for police officers / S. V. Albul, A. G. Bochevar. – Odesa: ODUVS, 2017. + CD.

The Ukrainian-German phrasebook is designed primarily for people who do not speak German, but it can also be useful for those who studied the language at school, institute, on courses or independently. The structure of the phrasebook consists of six sections: "Acquaintance, contacts", "National Police of Ukraine", "In the city", "Road and traffic situations", "Armament", "Services, recreation", "Common expressions". The phrasebook is designed for employees of the National Police of Ukraine who have difficulties communicating with foreign citizens who are on the territory of our state. The phrasebook is compiled according to the problem principle, contains the most common phrases for communication and solving professional tasks.

The phrasebook is supplemented with a CD with video materials in German.

The phrasebook will be useful for employees of the National Police, cadets and teachers of educational institutions with specific conditions of study of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and everyone who is interested in the German language.
