
ALL-UKRAINIAN COMPETITION OF SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL PRESENTATIONS "USE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY METHODS DURING PRE-COURT INVESTIGATION OF CRIMINAL OFFENCES"
With the participation of members of the All-Ukrainian Association of Scientists and Specialists in the Field of Operational and Detective Activities, the All-Ukrainian Competition of Scientific and Practical Presentations “Use of Methods of Science and Technology during Pre-Trial Investigation of Criminal Offenses” was held at the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.
The purpose of the competition was to generalize, modernize, standardize, adapt and implement methods of science and technology to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of pre-trial investigation of criminal offenses.
43 presentations from five regions of our country (Lviv, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson) were submitted to the competition. Representatives of the following higher educational institutions took part in the competition: Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, National Academy of Internal Affairs, Donetsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine, National Academy of the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, etc.
Based on the results of the expert evaluation of the received presentations, the following winners of the competition were determined:
1st place – PRESENTATION OF THE METHOD “HAZOP RISK ASSESSMENT” DURING THE PRE-COURT INVESTIGATION OF CRIMINAL OFFENCES
Author: Talalay Dmytro Volodymyrovych, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Acting Head of Laboratory No. 1 of the Scientific and Organizational Center of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine.
2nd place – PRESENTATION OF THE METHOD “RECONSTRUCTION OF THE METHOD (MECHANISM) OF COMMITTING A CRIME” – CRIME SCENE RECONSTRUCTION (CSR)
Author: Afonin Dmytro Serhiyovych — Lecturer at the Department of Criminology, Forensic Medicine and Psychiatry of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.
2nd place – PRESENTATION OF THE METHOD “CLUSTER ANALYSIS IN IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook”
Authors: Kalinovsky Oleksandr Valeriyovych — Candidate of Law, Senior Researcher, Deputy Head of the Department of Organization of Scientific and Research Work of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, Shkolnikov Vladislav Igorevich — higher education graduate with a “Master’s” degree from Educational and Scientific Institute No. 1 of the National Academy of Internal Affairs.
3rd place – PRESENTATION OF THE METHOD “CRIMINALISTIC PREDICTION” DURING THE INTERROGATION OF A WITNESS AND A SUSPECT IN THE FACT OF MURDER
Author: Teslyuk Iryna Oleksandrivna — doctoral and postgraduate student of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.
3rd place – PRESENTATION OF THE METHOD “INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY”
Authors: Iryna Vitaliyivna Hora — Doctor of Law, Professor, Senior Researcher of Laboratory No. 1 of the Scientific and Organizational Center of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine, Valeriy Arkadiyovych Kolesnyk — Doctor of Law, Professor, Senior Researcher of Laboratory No. 1 of the Scientific and Organizational Center of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine.
3rd place – PRESENTATION OF THE METHOD “DATA EVALUATION”
Author: Ihor Andriyovych Fedchak — Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Operational and Investigative Activities of the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs.
The winners of the competition will be awarded diplomas for the best scientific and practical presentation “Use of methods of science and technology during pre-trial investigation of criminal offenses”.
Based on the results of the competition, it is planned to prepare a textbook that will include the author's methods of pre-trial investigation of criminal offenses. The textbook will be sent to the investigative units of the National Police of Ukraine for implementation in practical activities.
